Privacy Statement

Responsibility and scope

Eldran Academic Press administers this publishing workspace and is the contact point for questions about its use of personal information. The intended corporate operator is Eldran Academic Press Ltd; incorporation has not been confirmed. This notice covers account details, manuscripts, peer-review records, support correspondence and website requests. It does not govern independent external websites.

Information we collect

The journal system stores the names, affiliations, email addresses, usernames and profile information supplied by account holders; submission files and metadata; author declarations; review assignments, reports, decisions and correspondence. Access requests may generate technical logs including IP addresses, request times and browser information. Information about coauthors is provided by the submitting author; reviewer expertise may also be obtained from public scholarly profiles.

Why information is used

Account and submission information is used to provide the publishing service requested by a user. Editorial records support peer review, correspondence, conflict checks, research-integrity assessment and dispute resolution. Technical records support security and fault diagnosis. Published author names, affiliations, contributions and article metadata form part of the scholarly record. Required account and submission fields are needed to process the relevant request; optional profile information may be omitted.

Lawful bases

Where UK data-protection law applies, processing necessary to provide a requested service may rely on steps towards or performance of a contract. Editorial integrity, security, administration and maintenance of the scholarly record may rely on legitimate interests, subject to the rights of the people affected. Applicable legal obligations may require particular records to be retained or disclosed. Optional communications that require consent must be based on a separate choice; consent may be withdrawn without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Confidentiality and access

Unpublished manuscripts and review records are accessible to administrators and the editorial participants assigned to the relevant work. Reviewers receive the material needed for their assessment. Double-anonymous review is intended to conceal author identities from reviewers and reviewer identities from authors, but the editorial office can identify participants. Authors must remove identifying details from review files and avoid uploading unnecessary sensitive participant information.

Storage and external services

This installation stores account and manuscript records on the computer running the editorial service. Email messages are captured in its internal mailbox; external email delivery and online payments are not enabled. The publisher website has no advertising or analytics tracking. No external hosting, payment, screening or preservation service is connected to this installation. This notice must be updated when the service operator, hosting or connected providers change, including any applicable international-transfer arrangements.

Retention

Unsubmitted drafts and inactive accounts are retained only while needed for an active service relationship and are reviewed for removal. Rejected or withdrawn manuscripts are retained for the appeal period and any proportionate, documented dispute or integrity investigation. Accepted manuscripts and confidential review records are kept for the period needed to substantiate editorial decisions and resolve related concerns. Published articles, author metadata and formal notices are maintained as the scholarly record. Support records and logs are retained only for relevant support, security and recovery needs. A legal hold may temporarily extend retention.

Cookies and security

OJS uses cookies for login sessions, security and interface preferences. No advertising cookies are configured. Account passwords and role permissions control access to editorial records. The current service runs on this computer and does not provide a public HTTPS endpoint. Use a unique password and avoid sharing an account. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Depending on the applicable law and processing basis, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal information. These rights are not absolute; published scholarship, legal duties and integrity investigations can require a record to be retained. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your circumstances, and may object to direct marketing at any time. Editorial decisions are made by people, not solely by automated profiling.

Questions and complaints

Raise requests with the administrator who provided your account, identifying the record and requested action. The designated privacy address for the public service is privacy@eldranacademic.com; external mail delivery is not enabled in this installation. Where UK law applies, you may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. The 30-day deadline for editorial appeals does not restrict privacy complaints or data-rights requests.

Updates

This notice was updated on 17 September 2026. Material changes to data use or service providers will be reflected here before those changes are introduced.
